In response to the extension of federal guidelines for social distancing through April 30, Camp Henry has decided to suspend all scheduled groups through April 30. While discontinuing serving year round groups during this period is in alignment with the recommendations designed to limit the transmission and spread of COVID-19, it is also really hard. Part of our mission here at Camp Henry is to bring people together, and it is super disappointing when we are not able to do so.
Please know that we are monitoring this developing situation closely, staying in regular contact with local and federal agencies, health organizations, and other experts. We are also implementing industry best practices in terms of cleaning and caring for our facilities and providing a safe environment for our campers, guests, and staff members.
As of now, we are planning to welcome groups beginning May 1 - yet this date could be extended depending upon the need for additional mitigation strategies to slow the spread of COVID-19.
With rapidly changing recommendations coming out from the CDC, local health departments, and state government - we will plan to follow up with scheduled groups the week of April 20 to discuss options and share additional details, including measures that Camp Henry is taking to protect campers, guests, volunteers, and staff - as well as measures that we will be asking groups to take.
We will be assessing our operations based on the recommendations of our local and state officials, and update you as circumstances change.
