Who are Camp Henry campers?
Camp Henry serves campers aged 7-17 from West Michigan and beyond. Children are placed in cabins with others of similar age. Camp Henry is a co-ed camp, but boys and girls are housed in separate villages at camp. Each village has its own bathroom and shower facilities. Boys and girls also stay in separate cabins in Teen Challenge Village and Frontier Village.
Who are Camp Henry staff members?
Counseling staff must be at least 18 years old and have completed at least one year of
college. They come from all over the United States. After being carefully screened and selected, all summer staff members take part in a 10 day pre-camp training program. Many of our staff are former Camp Henry campers and often return to work at camp for several years.

Does Camp Henry offer financial assistance?
Yes, the Camp has scholarship funds available. Please check out our financial aid
section in this brochure for more information about our sliding scale fee! Financial aid will be distributed as long as funds are available and may be limited as summer camp approaches.
Do campers need to bring any money?
We provide campers with the chance to make purchases at our camp store during the week. The store will be open each day and all items at the store will be sold for $1. Campers may deposit up to $10 in the camp store. All purchases at the camp store must be made based on the money deposited in camper accounts. Deposits for store accounts can be made either on the camper registration form or on the first day of camp during camper registration. The store will have healthy and nutritious snacks and beverages. In addition, we are encouraging all campers to bring a water bottle or canteen that they can utilize throughout their days at camp to help stay hydrated. Camp Henry T-shirts ($10) and hooded sweatshirts ($30), along with other camp gear are available for purchase the day of check-in and check-out.
When do I need to pay for my child's camp?
A deposit of 50% is required at the time of registration for those not applying for
financial aid. This deposit is non-
refundable. The balance of the cost of camp will be paid 15 business days prior to the start of your child's camp. If you have a question or concern about
payment, please feel welcome to call us at 616-459-2267 x. 1.
What is your cancellation/change policy?
Cancellations made more than 3 weeks prior to camp date will receive a refund of all payment beyond the deposit (50% of camp cost).
Cancellations due to "acts of God" (i.e. broken limb, illness, family crisis) will receive a full refund.
No refunds (except "acts of God") can be made within the three weeks prior to the camp starting.
Each registered camper gets one free week change. All subsequent changes will incur a $25 change fee.

School Program FAQ's
Why would we choose Camp Henry over the other camps in the area?
Camp Henry provides custom built programs to fit the needs of your group. While we do have a framework for our programs, each group is different and we strive to individualize the content of our programs so that every participant has an experience as unique as they are.
Our programs are evaluated several times a year for content and structure to ensure they are timely, applicable and engaging. We listen to the feedback we get from our groups to ensure that we are providing meaningful programs while staying true to the mission of our organization. We also stay current on trends within the camping industry, experiential education forums and the state of Michigan education benchmarks by providing our staff with continuing education opportunities throughout the year in order to deliver high quality relevant programs to you.
Camp Henry is within 50 minutes of Grand Rapids, MI providing a low cost, low impact drive from your school to our 215 wooded rolling acres. We will do all that we can to ensure you have the best possible experience while you're with us!
What types of programming options may we choose from?
Depending on the length of your stay, the ages and numbers of participants you have, you will be able to choose from team and leadership, adventure course challenges, outdoor science, environmental education and traditional camp activities, such as canoeing, kayaking, fishing, etc…
Most schools have a mix of programming including climbing, teambuilding, field initiatives, camp activities and science.
The Year Round Program Director can assist you in shaping a program which will be fun, challenging and engaging for all students.
How long are your class times?
Class length can vary somewhat, but usually runs about 90 minutes in length. This 90 minute time period includes time for getting to and from the next activity as well as debriefing during and at the end of each activity.
